YOUR COURSES (Only the 7 Mile Course Qualifies for a GRIT SERIES FINISH)
The Cougar Chase gives trail running enthusiasts a classic fall trail run experience in the beautiful Selkirk mountains at Schweitzer! Choose the 7 mile course with moderate elevation gains and a mix of single and double track that boast epic views of the mountains and fall leaves turning gold. Or take on the 3 mile lower elevation course on mostly double track trail with a little mix of single track. The Cougar Chase gives some samples of its bigger sister race-Race the Wolf, but with a focus on lower elevation scenic fall running in the mountains, less the burly technical climbs. A fall trail run with something for everyone.
This is the final race in the series for all three distances! Take on Race the Wolf, then step it down a little at the Priest Lake Marathon, then enjoy this fun trail cruiser to your series finish line.

Important details about The GRIT series
There is no fee to sign up for The GRIT. You will sign up for each of the individual races of the GRIT on their own website and registration platforms. You can do this on each race registration timeline, you do not need to sign up for all of them at once. Follow the registration procedures of that race.
To be in The GRIT, you must sign up at https://runsignup.com/Race/ID/PriestRiver/TheGrit. We need you to register so we can tally your races over the season. We ask that you sign up for THE GRIT as soon as possible even if you think you want to do all the races to help us coordinate the series. You can drop later with no penalty to any of the individual races.
New GRIT runners can continue to sign up after the first race (Race the Wolf) begins or if you completed a race. You will need to sign up by the second race of your distance series (Short Cut, Long Cut or Grand Cut).
